The Edinburgh Fringe | Artist: Jade Jackson “Color in the Wind”

The colorful umbrellas outside of the store represent the individual people walking through life… the wind has blown them in combining them into an abstract rainbow of color… representing the many different people that come together in Dunedin.
Jack Pollino's Pizza | Artist: John Gascot “Tramonto a Napoli” (Napoli Sunset)
718 Broadway • gascot.com | IG: @jgascot | FB: @johngascot
As this mural was an indoor site-specific piece I wanted to create something that would stand as a feature but also live harmoniously within its setting. I discussed with the owners of the restaurant and we settled on an abstracted seaside Napoli cityscape. I love playing with line and color and used this approach when executing the piece, allowing it to take shape organically.
Caledonia Brewing Co, | Artist: Artist Doug Wright “Nessie”
587 Main Street • IG: @Dougwrightstudio | FB: facebook.com/ douglas.wright.108
When planning my mural for the “Love Downtown Dunedin” project, I knew I wanted to represent Dunedin’s Scottish heritage. When thinking of Scotland and it’s mythology I had a vision of the Loch Ness Monster as a majestic serpent. Keeping in mind Dunedin’s thriving craft brewery scene, Nessie coils around clusters of hops and stalks of barley, the main ingredients used to make beer.
Bon Appétit | Artist: Gary Baillie “Freedom Dolphin”
148 Marina Plaza • lovemymural.com | IG: @@bailliegary | FB: @gary.baillie.581
This colorful dolphin represents our natural instinct to be free. To be free from our own bureaucratic institutions and manipulative social media. A cry of nature...To be free from our human condition when we've been held captive together by a global pandemic. Freedom dolphin shows you the way. Go to the beach, go for a swim. Get out of your mind and into your heart. Go swim with the freedom dolphin!
Cueni Brewing Co. | Artist: Artist Melanie Posner “Better Together”
945 Huntley Avenue • melanieposner.com | IG: @therealmelpoz | FB: @MelaniePosnerArt
I wanted to create something that gave people a sense of unity despite everything that’s going on in the world. The mural has every color of the rainbow included which symbolizes hope and a promise for better things to come. With the project being called Love Downtown Dunedin I made this mural to emphasize love on this one planet we all share together.

Canvas Location: Lafayette & Rushford | Artist: Margaret “Meps” Schulte “Riding With Freddie”
The 5’x 5’ painting showcases Freddie’s friendly approach to everyone along with her historic connection to Dunedin. Her love of rubber duckies, teddy bears, candy, and strangers is shown, and there’s even a small Optimist pram. Freddie was one of the Windlasses, sailing on St. Joseph Sound.
Canvas Location: Roxie-K Boutique | Artist: Daniel “R5” Barojas “Fluidity”
This canvas seeks to capture a moment frozen in time where the subject is engaged in her thoughts while her hair flows with movement bathed in color.
Canvas Location: Key West Express Boutique | Artist: DESIREE SOULE “Paradise Found”
Inspired by the history of Honeymoon Island and the thatched beach huts that sat on the beach and beckoned vacationers from near and far. My goal was to create a piece of art utilizing materials you find on any beach. I was able to recycle styrofoam boxes, glass, and a windshield sunshade.
